Lighting, Fans & Chandeliers in Longview TX in Tyler, Longview & East Texas
Lighting and fan work looks simple right up until it isn't. A ceiling fan hung from a standard plastic light box will wobble loose over time — fans require a fan-rated, braced box anchored to structure. A heavy chandelier over the dining table needs the same engineering plus careful leveling and chain work. And a recessed lighting layout done without a plan leaves you with shadows where you cook and glare where you watch TV. We do this work daily for homeowners across Tyler, Longview, and East Texas, and the difference shows.
Inside the house, we install and replace ceiling fans, hang chandeliers and pendants, lay out and install recessed lighting, and run under-cabinet LEDs that make a kitchen feel custom. We also handle the controls — dimmers matched to your bulbs (mismatched dimmers are the number-one cause of flicker and buzz), three-way switching done right, and smart switches that work reliably instead of intermittently.
Outside, we wire exterior and landscape lighting that survives East Texas weather: properly rated fixtures, weatherproof connections, and GFCI protection where code requires it. If your project adds enough load to matter — or the room has no ceiling wiring at all — we run new circuits as part of the job, and we'll flag it in the written price up front rather than mid-install. It's the same standard we bring to every residential call.
Signs it's time
- A ceiling fan that wobbles or hums
- No ceiling fixture where you want one — no wiring at all
- A chandelier too heavy for the existing box
- Dark kitchens or living rooms with one center fixture
- Dimmers that buzz or flicker with LED bulbs
- A remodel that deserves a real lighting plan
Every wire,
every device.
Whether it's a heavy chandelier over the dining table, a flush-mount fan in the bedroom, or a full recessed lighting layout for your remodel — we handle the wiring, the mounting, and the cleanup.

Questions we
hear a lot.
Straight answers about lighting, fans & chandeliers in longview tx — and if yours isn't here, call and ask. A real person picks up.
Can you install a ceiling fan where there's only a light fixture?
Usually, yes — but not on the existing box. Fans require a fan-rated box braced to the framing, which we install as part of the job. If the switch wiring doesn't support separate fan and light control, we'll give you the options while we're up there.
Can you add a fan or light where there's no wiring at all?
Yes. We run new switched circuits to rooms that never had ceiling wiring — attic access makes it cleaner, but we have methods for tight situations too. You'll get a written price after we look at the access, not a guess over the phone.
How heavy a chandelier can you hang?
Heavier than you'd think — large entry and dining fixtures are routine. Anything over the standard box rating gets a properly braced, weight-rated mount anchored to structure. Two of us hang the big ones: one on the ladder, one protecting your floor and the fixture.
Why do my LED lights flicker on the dimmer?
Almost always a dimmer designed for incandescent loads driving LED bulbs it was never built for. The fix is a compatible LED-rated dimmer matched to your bulbs — a quick swap we do constantly. If flicker shows up across the whole house, that's a different conversation, and worth a diagnostic visit.
Do you do landscape and exterior lighting?
Yes — eave lights, floodlights, pathway and accent lighting, all properly weatherproofed and GFCI-protected. We can also put exterior lighting on smart controls or timers so the house lights itself.

3 weeks agoI can’t say enough good things about Mark with Chosen 1 Electric. I called him with an immediate need, and he was at my location within 15 minutes. This wasn’t a typical electrical job, and there were several moving parts that had to be coordinated, but Mark stayed the entire time and helped troubleshoot while we worked to get everything in place. What impressed me most was his willingness to jump in and help with things that weren’t even part of his job. He was incredibly patient, professional, and kind throughout the process. When everything was finally ready for him to do his portion of the work, he had it completed in less than five minutes. It’s rare to find someone who is not only knowledgeable and efficient but also genuinely cares about helping their customers. I will absolutely use Mark and Chosen 1 Electric again in the future, and I will gladly refer any customers, friends, or family who need electrical work done. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
